The Big Golf Race isn’t your typical round on the course - it’s a big day out where every swing saves lives.
Organise your own Big Golf Race and take on 36, 72 or 100 holes in one day. By going the distance on the course, you’ll be helping fund vital research, raising awareness, and moving us closer to a future where men can find prostate cancer early enough to be cured.
Prostate cancer exists in every golf club. It’s the most common in men, and yet it’s still the only major cancer without a national screening programme. That means too many men are diagnosed too late. It shouldn’t be this way.
By joining The Big Golf Race, you’ll be helping us change that. Each pound you raise goes towards the research and evidence needed to make screening a reality for all men.
We cannot do it without you. Sign up today, let’s save men’s lives.
Barry Plummer and Freddie Hughes are two golfers who are backing The Big Golf Race this summer.
Golf Monthly writer Barry is going the distance this summer after his dad was successfully treated for the most common cancer in men, while Freddie is hoping that The Big Golf Race will help men to know their prostate cancer risk factors after his dad was diagnosed late, meaning his cancer had spread.
“It's something you never think is going to happen to you or your family,” Freddie said.
“The money that I've raised I hope just makes a small difference in the research and the testing, and to help get the message out there.”
Barry said: “Luckily my dad has gone through treatment and came out the other side, and we’re very fortunate that’s the case. We know that’s down to the hard work and research of organisations like Prostate Cancer UK, and I’m glad to have played a part by taking on The Big Golf Race.”
If you can go the distance, we can too.
